MAB Scrap Metal buys electric wire and armoured cable scrap in Dammam from electrical contractors, factories, demolition sites, workshops and homes. We take power cable, SWA armoured cable, house wiring, bare copper and aluminium wire, panel wiring and cable drums. Free collection, digital weighing, cash. Call 0572188268.
Cable builds up quietly. A contractor finishes a villa and has three coils of offcuts. A factory rewires a line and fills a bin with old control cable. A demolition crew pulls hundreds of metres of armoured cable out of a warehouse. It sits in a corner because nobody has time to deal with it. That corner is holding real money.
What we buy in Dammam
Armoured cable (SWA)
The steel wire armour layer under the outer sheath adds weight that must be stripped, so armoured cable sits a grade below plain cable of the same core. We still buy it in any length, from short offcuts to full runs pulled from a site.
Power and distribution cable
Single and multi core, copper or aluminium. Thick core cable gives the best metal yield and the best rate.
House and building wiring
Offcuts, rewiring waste and cable stripped out during renovation.
Bare copper and aluminium wire
Already stripped wire, busbar, earth wire and overhead line. This is the highest grade we handle.
Panel and control cable
Wiring from distribution boards, control panels, machine harnesses and instrumentation.
Telecom and data cable
Thin cable is mostly insulation, so it pays less per kilo, but in bulk it is still worth collecting.
Cable drums
Part used, damaged or surplus drums.
Who sells cable scrap to us
Electrical contractors. Offcuts and surplus from every job. Instead of storing coils for a year, set a repeat collection.
Demolition and strip-out crews. Cable pulled from warehouses, offices and industrial buildings, often together with steel and copper pipe. We buy all of it in the same visit.
Factories in Dammam 2nd Industrial City. Maintenance waste, machine rewires, panel upgrades and plant clearances.
Telecom and IT contractors. Old data cable, tower cabling and rack wiring.
Workshops and garages. Wiring harnesses and loose wire.
Homeowners. Cable left over from a rewire or renovation.
How the price is worked out
Cable is not paid at the bare copper rate, and there is a reason for that. When you hand over 100 kg of insulated cable, the buyer does not receive 100 kg of copper. He may recover 30 kg or 55 kg, depending on the core thickness, with the rest being plastic and sometimes steel armour that has to be stripped and disposed of.
So the rate reflects the metal that can actually be recovered. Five things move it:
- Core metal. Copper core pays well above aluminium core.
- Core thickness. Thick power cable yields far more metal than thin data cable of the same weight.
- Armour. Steel wire armour lowers the grade compared with unarmoured cable.
- Cleanliness. Sand, concrete, tape and connectors are weight nobody pays for.
- Quantity. Larger loads cost less to process per kilogram, so bulk sellers get better rates.
| Material | Metal yield | Value level |
|---|---|---|
| Bare bright copper wire | Full | Highest |
| Heavy copper power cable | High | High |
| House wiring cable | Medium | Medium to high |
| Armoured copper cable (SWA) | Medium | Medium |
| Aluminium core cable | Medium | Medium |
| Data and telephone cable | Low | Lower |
We do not publish fixed riyal rates, because copper moves and a printed number would mislead you. Call 0572188268 for a quote on the day.
Safety before you sell
Make sure the cable is fully disconnected and isolated before anyone handles it. If it came out of a live installation, a qualified electrician should have done the removal.
Do not burn cable to remove the insulation. It releases toxic fumes, it is against the law, and burnt copper is graded lower, not higher. Sellers who burn cable usually end up with less money than if they had handed it over as it was.
How collection works
- Call or WhatsApp 0572188268. Tell us the cable type, rough quantity and area of Dammam.
- Send photos. Include one of a cut end so we can see whether the core is copper or aluminium.
- Free inspection. We come at a time you choose, at no charge.
- Sorted weighing. Each grade goes on the digital scale separately, in front of you. Nothing is averaged down into one price.
- Cash before loading. Bank transfer with paperwork available for company sales.

Frequently asked questions
Do you buy armoured cable in Dammam?
Yes, any quantity. The steel armour puts it a grade below plain cable, but it is still worth good money.
What is today’s electric wire scrap rate?
It changes with the copper market. Call 0572188268 and we will quote for your grade.
Is copper cable worth more than aluminium cable?
Yes, considerably. Cut one end and check the colour if you are unsure.
Should I strip the cable first?
For thick cable in small amounts it can be worth the time. For thin cable it usually is not. Never burn it.
Do you collect from live construction sites?
Yes. We work around site programmes and can collect on a schedule.
Is there a minimum quantity?
No strict minimum for Dammam. Small lots are easiest combined with other scrap.
Do you buy old cable drums?
Yes, including damaged and surplus drums.
How do I know the weighing is fair?
Everything is weighed on a digital scale in your presence, grade by grade, before loading.
Do you buy panel boards and switchgear?
Yes, along with electronic scrap and control equipment.
Can I sell cable together with other metals?
Yes. Copper, aluminium, steel and AC units are weighed separately on the same visit.
